On the morning of November 1, 2025, the 22nd Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), term 2024–2027, took place at Meeting Room 2 of the University.

The Congress served as an important political event for HCMUTE youth, conducting a mid-term review of the implementation of the Youth Union’s Resolution for the 2024–2027 tenure, while setting out objectives, orientations, tasks, and key solutions for the second half of the 2025–2027 term.

Attending the Congress were Mr. Mai Trong Nghia – Member of the Executive Committee and Deputy Head of the Propaganda & External Relations Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union. Representing HCMUTE were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee, Vice President of the University; along with 99 student delegates representing more than 20,000 Youth Union members of HCMUTE.

At the Congress, delegates listened to the preliminary report on Youth Union activities and youth movements from June 2024 to October 2025; exchanged and discussed solutions to enhance the quality of Youth Union and Student Association activities; and promoted the pioneering role of students in academic excellence, scientific research, entrepreneurship and innovation, community volunteer activities, and building a civilized, healthy, and creative university environment. The agreed resolutions of the Congress remain aligned with the University's development strategy in the context of digital transformation and global integration in higher education.

The Congress approved the adjustment of the Youth Union term from 2024–2027 to 2025–2027 in accordance with directives from the Central Youth Union, and elected a delegation to attend the higher-level Youth Union Congress, including 6 official delegates and 3 alternate delegates.

In his speech at the Congress, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President of HCMUTE – praised and acknowledged the significant contributions of HCMUTE youth. He expressed confidence that the Youth Union will continue to demonstrate its pioneering, volunteer, and innovative spirit, truly serving as a reliable reserve force of the Party and playing a key role in the development of the University.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh also requested the Youth Union’s Executive Committee and the entire Congress to focus collective efforts on implementing several core tasks:

● First, strengthen the education of revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyle among students and young people.
● Second, continue to maintain and promote environments and activities that foster passion for scientific research and aspirations for independence and entrepreneurship.
● Third, support the University's student recruitment and career orientation initiatives by promoting scientific research teams that assist high schools.
● Fourth, place greater emphasis on developing outstanding Youth Union members as potential Party candidates; strengthen and build a capable team to effectively implement Resolution No. 21-NQ/TW dated June 16, 2022 on “Enhancing and building grassroots Party organizations and improving the quality of Party members in the new period,” and Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2018 on “Strengthening the protection of the Party’s ideological foundation and combating wrongful and hostile viewpoints in the new situation.”

The Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of HCMUTE, term 2025–2027, concluded with strong consensus on the goals, tasks, and solutions for the coming period. With the spirit of “Pioneering – Courage – Solidarity – Creativity – Development,” HCMUTE youth continue to affirm their pioneering role in learning, research, and contributing to the community.
