Develop students’ critical thinking ability and attitudes
This webinar contains 2 blocks of information: the first block is about the concept of critical thinking; the main part of webinar is devoted to different teaching strategies on how to stimulate and develop critical thinking.
A detailed illustration of some of the teaching strategies are given in a KU Leuven lecturer Jozefien De Keyzer’s examples. In her 4 videos, she explained in detail how she tried to develop students’ critical thinking by making thinking explicit through problem solving. Particular tips are given in her videos concerning. For instance, what kind of rubric can be created in assessment to stimulate thinking, what questions can be asked during the demonstration of problem solving and how to use a free tool perusal to organize online discussions to stimulate in-depth thinking, etc.
