In this examination phase, Cluster 16 – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering was organized at two testing sites:

Testing Site 38 at the main campus of HCM-UTE included 97 examination rooms with 3,199 candidates;
Testing Site 39 at Nguyen Huu Huan High School included 49 examination rooms with 1,176 candidates.

HCM-UTE prepared detailed support and coordination plans well in advance. Student volunteers were assigned to internal traffic checkpoints, entrance gates, and examination map areas. Activities such as guiding candidates to examination rooms, directing movement flow, and supporting luggage storage were carried out efficiently, ensuring that candidates entered examination rooms on time.

The Phase 2 V-ACT 2026 was organized at 38 institutions across 9 provinces and cities following administrative restructuring. According to information from the Admissions Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering, HCM-UTE will apply two admission methods for 2026 as follows:

● Method 1: Direct Admission and Priority Admission

Direct admission follows the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, while priority admission is implemented according to the university’s admission scheme. The university applies bonus-point priority policies for candidates who meet admission thresholds and possess outstanding achievements. Bonus points are granted based on:

Individual achievements;
Specialized and gifted high schools;
Priority schools;
Affiliated schools with recommendation letters from principals;
Priority admission schools for the Binh Phuoc Branch Campus.

● Method 2: Combined Academic Performance-Based Admission

Candidates’ academic performance will be evaluated through the following combinations, with the highest score selected for admission consideration:

National High School Graduation Examination scores combined with high school academic transcripts;
National High School Graduation Examination scores combined with V-ACT scores;
National High School Graduation Examination scores only.

For the four majors of Architecture, Interior Architecture, Fashion Design, and Graphic Design, admission is based on combined academic performance (as above) together with aptitude test scores.

With thorough preparation in facilities, human resources, and candidate support, HCM-UTE continues contributing to ensuring that the Phase 2 V-ACT 2026 is conducted seriously, safely, and effectively. At the same time, the examination results also serve as one of the university’s admission methods for 2026, providing candidates with additional opportunities to access an application-oriented, practical, and modern learning environment at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering.

About the University Name Change

On December 26, 2025, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 2809/QĐ-TTg, officially changing the name of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE). The new name reflects the university’s multidisciplinary development orientation, strengths in technology and engineering, and its current stature.

Before 2007, the university was a leading institution in technical teacher education. Since 2007, following changes in the national academic discipline system, the university has strongly expanded technology, engineering, and related fields. The name change aligns with the Higher Education Network Planning for the 2021–2030 period with a vision toward 2050, meeting workforce demands in the era of digital transformation while affirming the university’s role as a national key university in technology and engineering.
