On the morning of August 27, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), in collaboration with the Youth Science and Technology Development Center of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, organized the Unitour – Eureka Journey 2025 program to disseminate information about the 27th Eureka Student Scientific Research Award 2025.

 

The program welcomed the participation of:

MSc. Tran Duc Su– Deputy Director of the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer, Ton Duc Thang University;

Ms. Ngo Thi Tu Trinh – Head of the Department of Science Management and Project Development, Youth Science and Technology Development Center;

MSc. Ngo Phuong Trinh – Lecturer, WESET English Center Co., Ltd.

From HCMUTE, participants included:

Assoc. Prof. Dr. le Minh Nhut – Deputy Head of the Office of Science and Technology;

MSc. Nguyen Doan Xuan Truong – Standing Deputy Secretary of the University’s Youth Union;
along with interested students.

 

 

During the opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr.  Le Minh Nhut emphasized:

“The Eureka Student Scientific Research Award is not only a recognition of outstanding research works but also a platform for students to nurture their passion for science and apply acquired knowledge into practice. Therefore, HCMUTE always pays great attention to supporting students in accessing scientific research, thereby affirming their creativity and international integration capabilities.”

 

 

At the event, MSc. Ngo Phuong Trinh , lecturer at WESET English Center Co., Ltd., shared essential knowledge on scientific research skills in English through five key topics:

Introduction to the concept of English in Research and its importance for international publications.

How to search for documents in STEM fields, criteria for evaluating quality papers, and how to identify predatory journals/conferences.

Methods for reading and analyzing scientific documents based on the IMRaD model (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion).

The process of preparing a manuscript.

How to choose reputable journals for publishing research.

 

Her presentation provided students with practical knowledge for their research journey—from understanding the importance of English in international publishing, searching for and evaluating reliable sources, to developing skills in reading and analyzing papers under the IMRaD standard, preparing manuscripts, and selecting reputable journals—contributing to enhancing the quality and professionalism of their scientific projects.

Following that, MSc. Tran Duc Su Deputy Director of the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer at Ton Duc Thang University, shared insights on scientific research trends in 2025, highlighting artificial intelligence (AI) as a key tool for young researchers.

He stressed that the explosion of AI technology has opened up numerous opportunities for students to access vast amounts of knowledge and improve research efficiency through advanced platforms such as AI Agent, DeepSeek, ThinkAI, ChatGPT, Grok, and Microsoft AI. Leveraging these modern technologies not only saves time but also supports data analysis, transparent drafting, and process optimization.

Additionally, he illustrated practical applications such as creating personalized AI chatbots for learning and research support, as well as introducing the use of Google AI Studio for rapid and accurate data processing and analysis.

The Unitour – Eureka Journey 2025 program inspired students on their path toward conquering the Eureka research award while reaffirming HCMUTE’s commitment to fostering a dynamic and innovative academic environment. It is a place where students can maximize their potential, integrate knowledge with modern technologies, and create meaningful values for society.

 

 

The Eureka Student Scientific Research Award is among the most prestigious awards for student research and creativity nationwide. It not only reflects the quality of education and training at higher education institutions but also serves as a strong driving force to promote the scientific research movement among students. Moreover, the award encourages and inspires students to propose ideas, develop practical solutions, and create new inventions, thereby contributing to the enhancement of education and training quality and the sustainable development of the nation.
