On the evening of January 5, 2025, at the Grand Hall, the Youth Union – Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) organized a ceremony to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Students and the Vietnam Student Association (January 9, 1950 – January 9, 2025) and to honor outstanding individuals at the HCMUTE Youth Awards 2025.

The event was held to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Students and the Vietnam Student Association while also recognizing individuals who achieved the prestigious titles of “Outstanding Young Lecturer”, “Outstanding, Talented, and Friendly Young Staff”, “Five-Good Student” at various levels, as well as exemplary individuals excelling in academics, research, arts, and sports. This recognition aims to inspire awardees to continue striving for self-improvement and greater achievements.

The ceremony welcomed distinguished guests from the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, including:

Mr. Le Duc Dat – Executive Committee Member, Deputy Head of the School Affairs Division, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Hoang – Executive Committee Member, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the Youth Union.
Ms. Dang Nguyen Kieu Vy – Officer from the External Relations and Propaganda Department of the Youth Union.

During his speech, Mr. Pham Ngoc Quy, Executive Committee Member of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association and President of the HCMUTE Student Association, reflected on the historical significance of the Vietnam Student Association’s 75-year journey. He emphasized that students have been a crucial force in the nation’s development, from wartime struggles to present-day academic excellence. HCMUTE students, over 21 years of development, have contributed significantly through scholarship support, part-time job programs, and other initiatives. Mr. Quy also expressed gratitude to the university’s leadership and the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association for their support.

Representing the university's Party Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh acknowledged the outstanding achievements in scientific research, cultural activities, and the arts by faculty members and students. He emphasized HCMUTE’s commitment to innovation and development and congratulated 264 exemplary individuals, including lecturers, staff, and “Five-Good Students”, for their contributions to the university’s reputation.

Recognizing Outstanding Achievements

Apart from the formal honors, the HCMUTE Youth Union – Student Association also acknowledged the remarkable contributions of students in various competitions, including:

First, Second, Third, and Consolation prizes at the 26th Euréka Scientific Research Competition 2024.
Second Prize at the Post-Harvest Technology Innovation Contest 2024.
Third Prize at the ICPC Asia Hanoi 2024 Programming Contest.
First and Consolation Prizes at the Packaging Speak Out Vietnam 2024 competition.
Honoring Outstanding Young Faculty and Staff
The titles “Outstanding Young Lecturer” and “Outstanding, Talented, and Friendly Young Staff” recognize faculty and staff who excel in teaching, professional work, and social contributions. In the past academic year:

Five faculty and staff members were awarded the “Outstanding, Talented, and Friendly Young Staff” title at the university level, including one at the city level.

Four lecturers were honored as “Outstanding Young Lecturers” at the university level, with three also recognized at the city level.

Recognizing Outstanding Students

The HCMUTE Youth Awards 2025 also celebrated exceptional students, particularly in the “Five-Good Student” movement, which is a prestigious title awarded to students excelling in five areas: Ethics, Academics, Physical Fitness, Volunteerism, and Integration.

One student received the “Five-Good Student” title at the national level.
Three students were honored at the city level.
One student received the January Star Award.
129 students were recognized for achievements in academics, research, arts, and sports by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and the Vietnam Student Association.
One collective unit was awarded the “Five-Good Student Collective” title at the university level.
126 students received the “Five-Good Student” title at the faculty level, and 79 students were honored at the university level.

The HCMUTE Youth Awards 2025 was a momentous event that highlighted the dedication and achievements of students, faculty, and staff at HCMUTE. Through their continuous efforts, these individuals contribute to the university’s growth and enhance its standing in the academic community. The event reinforced HCMUTE’s commitment to fostering an environment of excellence, innovation, and community engagement.
